Okay, I'm about to write what is probably the most vain blog post in blogger, or at least my, history. But this is a serious quandary, and if you saw the picture of me taken when I was about 9 in my softball jersey, bat in hand, you'd understand why I find it necessary to poll my readership. Well, assuming my readership is made up of people who care--and if you keep coming back to this little piece of the worldwide web, you must care at least a little about things as mundane as this.
Anyway, here's the quandary: I've a sudden urge to get bangs.
Now, those of you who knew me in the years of late childhood/early adolescence and have actually seen me with bangs are probably gasping with horror and disbelief right now...particularly my mother. Most would attest that I had the worst, frizziest, most ill-cut (not to mention butt cut) bangs in the history of all follicular atrocities.
However, since we now have advanced technology such as the miraculous CHI iron (and I actually know how to fix my hair) I'm wondering if it's a little more safe now. I saw this picture of Sara Groves and immediately fell in love with her hair. I want mine to look just like it--whether it actually would with this cut is a bit of a toss up.
Maybe I just want to BE Sara Groves, and her hair is as close as I'll get since I can't sing.
Regardless, I want this haircut, but I'm a wee bit hesitant--I am not the one to take risks with hair. Usually it's completely not worth it when you have hair that can look as bad as mine can.
Penny for your thoughts, readership.
On another note, I was cleaning out the drafts folder of my email account a minute ago and found this old life to-do list that I made right out of college. Life's funny, isn't it?
My life list:
1. do some freelance writing
2. live abroad for at least one year
3. teach kids
4. write a book
5. work as an event planner in a big city
6. learn to play the guitar
7. visit (or live in) New York during Christmas
8. work in music or book publishing
9. run the Boston Marathon
10. star in a hit movie
11. be a guest on meredith's cooking show (The Sparkling Chef)
*Mere, I suppose this was crafted while sitting at a corner table at LJ's...but I have to be honest, I have no recollection of you having a cooking show called The Sparkling Chef...might we revisit that one?
